The Blythe story is truly a unique one. Created by American company Kenner in 1972, the original Blythe dolls were not very popular and were only sold for 1 year.
30 years later, after video producer Gina Garan brought her Blythe everywhere and published her book - 'This is Blythe', Blythe mania exploded, mainly among adults, who started to collect them in earnest. Blythe mania spread to Japan, where Takara acquired the production rights and started producing and marketing Blythe Dolls.
Blythe is produced in 2 sizes - the larger Blythe Doll at 28cm, and the smaller Petite Blythe at 11.2cm. Tokyo Fantasy carries both large Blythe and Petite Blythe dolls.
