There are so many sights and sounds and thing to do in Tokyo, sometimes we just don't know where to focus. It's amazing that a city where the people are supposed to be conservative and closed-up can be so fun.

Everywhere you look, something interesting seems to be happening.

Night Life
This city never seems to sleep. The major shopping areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya seem to throng with people, even after midnight.

Though most shops close by 11pm, there are still lots of people around, especially in the pubs, bars and karaoke lounges around town. Neon lights still blaze brightly well into the night.

The streets of Shinjuku (left) and Shibuya (right) at night.
This is probably the most famous street crossing in the world, the X crossing at Shibuya.
Advertisements
How a country advertises shows the creativity of its' people. Here in Tokyo, we got to see just how very creative the Japanese people really are. Beautiful and eye-catching advertisements adorn every street, some evern on the street.
Left: Billboards at the top of buildings in Shinjuku. Notice the watch company tells the time and the air-conditioner company tells the temperature. Cool!.
Center: The ultimate in mobile ads - this grabs your attention everytime.
Right: Beautiful posters adorn train stations and streets. This beautiful one announces yet another Final Fantasy movie.
Street performances
The Japanese have always been portrayed as a reserved people, but deep down inside, many of them sure do love to perform. Shibuya especially is a hotbed for street performers and the like.

These people add color to the streets and make a very lively atmosphere.

Left and Center: Street performers strutting their stuff in Shibuya and Shinjuku respectively.
Right: Another form of self-expression - weird hairstyles! Perfectly common in Shibuya!
In Conclusion
There's lots to do here, no doubt about it. The people here are warm, friendly, and fun! Definitely not what we expected.

Well, that's all the space we have this month, join us next month, as we bring you around Japan, and show you the Japanese attention to detail!
