| Toy exhibitions are big business in Japan. The toy makers use these exhibitions to showcase their latest products or to launch new products or characters. It is a great matter of pride to put on a great show to attract and impress the crowds, who come from all over the world. |

| The crowds are huge during these events. Most shows are only 1 day events, so any most of the toy community will be present. The queuing culture is readily apparent here, as you see very orderly queues forming to get into the event.
For the more popular events, queues can form even 2 to 3 hours before the event starts. We didn't understand why until we entered the event hall - Limited Edition Toys! |

| One of the greatest draws of toy events is the availability of Event Limited Edition toys! These are toys that are produced specially for the event, and are sold, in limited quantities, only at the event. This means that they become instant rare items, and are highly collectible!
For example, the day after we attended an event, we saw the Event Limited Edition toys displayed at a toy retailer selling for almost DOUBLE it's original price. Mind you, that's in Japan.... so in countries outside Japan, the price can easily skyrocket due to rarity.

they also pose, dress up in costume, and some even sing and dance! |

| Of course, what's an exhibition without the eye-candy? Japanese toy shows are famous for their girls! These are not run-of-the-mill part-time girls, most of these girls are professional, well trained toy promoters specially picked and trained for shows like this.
Of course, it's eye-candy aplenty as we see many girls dressed in the themes of their respective booths. Hmmm... too bad there's no Tomb Raider here. |
