These pictures show just a small part of a really massive industry in Japan - toys! The Japanese are crazy over toys, and who can blame them? With stressful jobs and hectic lifestyles, the Japanese have found release in the form of toys.
Toys are seen as a convenient form of leisure, which doesn't take up much space, and can conveniently be displayed in the home, the workplace, or even in the family car. Toy shops are found all over Tokyo! There are literally thousands of shops big and small dedicated to the selling of toys and other toy related items like show cases, paints, lighting and books.
The photographs here don't do enough justice to the variety and color available at these shops, but you can see how serious they are about toys in Japan. Toys and other supporting products are all displayed professionally, and many events are held to promote new launches and concepts.
